Dr. Hassan Khayal is a Board Member of the UAE Internal Auditors Association and a distinguished internal audit, governance, risk and assurance leader. He currently serves as Chief Internal Auditor at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and chairs The Institute of Internal Auditors’ Global Guidance Council, contributing to the development of professional guidance for the global internal audit community.
He holds a Doctorate in Business Administration and an MBA in Finance and is a Certified Internal Auditor, Certified in Risk Management Assurance and Certified Fraud Examiner. His expertise spans internal audit transformation, corporate governance, enterprise risk management, fraud investigations, cybersecurity, data analytics, artificial intelligence and emerging technology risks.
Recognised by Internal Auditor magazine as a 2020 Emerging Leader, Dr. Hassan is also a published author, university professor and accomplished international conference and webinar speaker. His article on internal audit independence and objectivity was ranked among the magazine’s top articles of 2025.
